The team at American Pest Control consistently goes above and beyond for their customers. Keeping homes and businesses safe, healthy, and pest-free is at the heart of what they do – but their passion extends far beyond the day-to-day work. They truly strive to make a meaningful impact, both for the people they serve and for the broader Illinois community. And what better way to do that than by helping make the holiday season a little brighter for local children and families?
So, the team at American Pest Control decided to come together to collect toys to add to a local Toys for Tots donation drive. Doug Hillman, General Manager at American Pest Control, summed it up perfectly when he said, “No child should be left without some toys for Christmas.” The team wholeheartedly agreed. From technicians to office staff to management – toys like basketballs, board games, dolls, and more were collected at the branch’s location until the bed of their historic 1966 Chevy truck was completely full.
Doug drove that truck to the donation drop off location. Their generosity caught the eye of local news station, 25News Now, who came and talked to Doug about it and did their own story. But that’s not why they did it. When asked why, Doug simply said, “it was something good that we could do for the community.”
It may sound like American Pest Control is simply being modest, but their sincerity is unmistakable. Giving back is just who they are. And while they know a donation of roughly 75 toys will brighten the holidays for many local children, the team at American Pest Control is already thinking about what more they can do. For them, giving back isn’t a one-time effort, it’s a way of life. We can’t wait to see what they do next.
